It's Official: Color Is The New Black!
It's that time of year again, time to start packing away the drab colors of winter and dust off the bright colors of the spring season! This season it's all about glamour with alluring reds, luxurious purples, and vibrant blues. Colors are not just for fashion risk takers anymore, they are for everyone! Its no doubt that we all want to dress to impress, so everyone needs to find the colors of the season that match their skin tones, hair color and eye color. One way to wear the right colors is determined by your skin tone or "season". Brunettes with pale or olive skin are the winter season and should lean towards wearing deep, rich colors. Strawberry blondes with pale skin are the spring season and look fabulous in bright colors. The summers usually have blonde hair with pale skin and should wear more muted colors. If you are an autumn you will have red or black hair with a ruddy skin tone and should lean towards wearing oranges, browns and olive greens. Another way to determine the perfect colors to wear is by your eye color combined with your hair color. If you have blonde hair with blue or green eyes you should wear colors more on the cool end of the color spectrum. While those with blonde hair, brown eyes can experiment with colors on the warm end of the color spectrum. Brunettes are the complete opposite. If you have brown hair with blue or green eyes, you should shop for more warm colors. While those brunettes with brown eyes can pull off more cool colors. Those with red hair and blue eyes look flattering in oranges, blacks, purples and greens. While redheads with brown and green eyes look great in more earthy tones. Lastly, those lucky girls with black hair will look phenomenal in every color! These simple facts are great for personal styling to determine which colors will work for your client and make them look fearless of color and overall the best they can be!

It's always interesting to see what colors will match up with different complexions. Black is always classic and never goes out of style but it's interesting to see colors taking over and becoming bigger than black itself.
ReplyDeleteAshley, during my visit to Mexico I was amazed that the color trend was also happening over there. People were wearing highlighter yellow, right blues, sharp and illuminating pinks, and yellows. We have always talked about accenting neutrals in fashion and I think now then ever is the best time to pair those neutrals up with these bright colors.
ReplyDeleteI definitly never put so much thought into colors for the seasons because I am such a fashion risk taker. It was really cool though to actually learn what colors work well for what skin tones in various season, although I think i'll still stick to mixing all colors in all seasons.
